To all of who did not know my sister on this earth, thank you for taking your time to show you care it means so much to our family!!, there is no such thing as strangers especially when we all share the hurt of the lose of someone we love someone that we all know in our hearts is looking down over us from heaven! We are brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and if more people on this earth could show compassion to one another while on this earth the world would be a better place! Our family holds on to the wonderful memories of Melissa although the hurt is there so strong that she is gone and her life was taking away from her from a man who is not spending any time behind bars for the precious life he has taken from us, this mans judgement time before our Lord all Mighty will come and there is nothing any District Attorny, juror, or judge can do for him noone can make excuses for him, God will pass his judgement upon him!

Bad News, October 22, 2009,  the District Attorney Branny  Vickery of Lenoir County, North Carolina informed us that he would not be charging Melissa's boyfriend  with  her murder because he does not have any evidence to go to trial .

I now have to tell Melissa's story so I can try and get some justice for my daughter, I have to be her voice now since she no longer can speak. I live in Texas, Melissa lived in North Carolina.

On Oct. 3, 2008 Melissa was beaten by her boyfriend, he then left her in their trailer for 6 days with no medical help. She was found on Oct. 8, 2008 because I had been trying to get in touch with her and couldn't reach her so I called for a welfare check, the police found her and she was air-lifted to the Trauma Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.

She had a brain bleed and blood clot on the right side of her head, a black eye on the left, her jaw was broken on both sides, she had a large bruise behind her ear on the left side, a bruise on her neck that looked like someone had tried to strangle her, and bruises all over her body. She had fluid on her brain and had to have a drain put in on the right side for the fluid to drain, she had a tube in her nose to feed her, she had a staph infection , she was postering, she was having seizures every 2 to 3 minutes, she was developing necrosis on her brain, she had a breathing tube, three days before she passed she developed a klebsiella infection which is 50 % fatal in healthy people, she was in the ICU for nine weeks, she died on Dec. 17, 2008.

Her boyfriend told the police that she had fallen in the bathroom, he has never spent a day in jail for what he did to my daughter.

I have two things I want to share, I believe that on these two occasions Melissa came to me to let me know she was okay.

The first time was around 12 midnight and everyone else was sleeping but I could not sleep so I was playing a game on the computer and right in the middle of the game I suddenly had overwhelming thoughts of Melissa and tears came to my eyes and at that moment I felt a hand run through my hair on the back of my head and I felt such a sense of peace and I knew that Melissa had come to see me.

The second time I was updating Melissa's main page and the song Immortal from Evanessence was playing, I was done so I closed out the program and it went to my main page and usually the music stops playing as soon as I x out of the program but the music played for around 5 minutes with no connection to the internet and I knew that Melissa had come to visit me again.
